Elijah draws from more than a decade of experience working with at-risk teens in educational and therapeutic environments. He started his career as an adventure camp instructor during the summers teaching group initiatives, ropes courses, rock climbing, caving, mountain biking, backpacking, canoeing, and kayaking to early teens. He has served as a mentor with Big Brothers – Big Sisters of America, as well as tutoring for uner-privileged youth at a local community center. Elijah has worked at Stone Mountain School as a Residential Counselor for at risk youth and has been a Residential Advisor with Academy of the Sierras, and most recently, he was a life skills coach at The Asheville House. Where he spent most of his time working with teens suffering from substance abuse issues. He has formal training in de-escalation and protective restraint techniques, as well as extensive experience mediating high risk situations. During his free time, he enjoys whitewater kayaking, caving, mountain biking, and backpacking.
