Tasha C. Interventionist
Tasha currently is a caregiver (providing care for disabled children) for Sacramento In-home Support Service (IHSS). Tasha has four children: three daughters, Karina (16), Jazmyn (14), Kelasia (12), and one son, Marcus Jr. (9). Tasha has too many nieces and nephews to count; they range from 4 months to 25 years. Tasha grew up going back and forth between her mother and father most her life, which created two totally different worlds for her. When she lived with her mother, there where times when they were homeless, and when she lived with her father, she lived in a million dollar home in Blackhawk, CA. Needless to say, this gave Tasha great perspective on life and enabled her to see both sides of the financial spectrum and experience the problems youths face on both sides. Tasha’s life experiences and her own experience as a “troubled teen” help her relate to and help others struggling through adolescence. Tasha has taken Early Childhood Education courses at Sacramento City College as well as a lot of other development classes through her church (Bayside) and Kaiser Permanente. Some of the her training included Reaching Students Through School Assemblies, Real Kids Real Struggles Real Solutions, Creative Communication: Speaking So Teens Will Listen, Raising Kids Right Before Rebellion, Parent Survival, First Aid, CPR, Childhood Development and The Child, The Family and The Community. Tasha has also coached cheerleading and is a cheer coordinator. She also teaches Sunday School and volunteers at a program for youth called Moral Values Program. Tasha feels strongly that we must give youth respect, while at the same time, we should demand respect from them in return. As she puts it, “If we give them respect, they’ll learn how to give it.”
