Interventionists
Martin S. Interventionist
Martin grew up on a 1,000-acre family-owned and operated farm in the heartland of the Midwest. He and his parents raised corn, soybeans, oats, alfalfa, wheat, pigs and beef cattle. While on the farm, he drove tractors, cared for the animals, was actively involved in high school sports, and participated in the county fair livestock competitions. Upon graduating high school, he moved south and attended a well known art and design school for architecture. He graduated with honors and was involved in many extracurricular activities including the student government. After taking a break from school, he found a job working with a high-end residential and commercial architecture firm in Atlanta, GA. He lived there for several years and worked for many high profile clients. He tired of the lifestyle and moved to the mountains of Western North Carolina where he worked for a year-round wilderness program. The program specializes in behavioral therapy for teenagers through the use of cognitive behavioral therapy, reality therapy and group consequences. He worked there for three years, eventually becoming a master counselor in charge of 60 clients and 20 staff. He now works in a gated community as lifestyle coordinator and teaches Sunday School along with his work for Right Direction. He is a self described “hoot and a holler” and hopes to one day live overseas.
