Joseph F. Interventionist
Joe was born in Brooklyn, New York, where he spent over 20 years working as a detective in the NYPD’s elite Gang Division, working to solve violent crimes committed by gang members and also assisting at-risk youth to remove themselves from criminal street gangs. Joe has also worked as a narcotics detective, and has extensive experience recognizing and assisting people who have addiction problems. He is the author of the Police Officers' Street Guide to Illicit Drugs. He currently manages the Worldwide Law Enforcement Consulting Group, Inc. and Ability Investigations and Security Services, a private investigation company in the Albany, New York area. Joe is a court recognized gang expert and New York State Certified Law Enforcement Instructor who lectures law enforcement personnel across the country and abroad on various law enforcement related topics. Joe understands the difficulties that young people go through, as he went through a difficult period during his own adolescence, and therefore relates very well to problem youth. Since his retirement from the NYPD, Joe resides in the New York Capital Region with his wife, Mary Ellen and three daughters. He enjoys woodworking, home improvement projects and spending time with his family.
