Right Direction Crisis Intervention

Right Direction has teamed up with a few select outdoor therapy programs to try a new and innovative form of intervention and transport. We have found that there are programs that don't take a traditionally transported student, but may have situations that warrant some assistance, guidance and/or intervention in order to get the student to a point of compliance where they are ready and somewhat willing to attend the program. We are calling this an Assisted Admission, and we currently have a 100% sucess rate since launching this new service last spring. What makes this different from a traditional transport is that we are approaching this as we would an adult intervention, where we need the family to be involved in having a difficult discussion with their child to help get him/her to a point where they are willing to go to a particular program. This means extra time at the home, more time on the front end preparing the family and working very closely with the receiving program and educational consultants to bring all of this together. We realize that this will not work for all families and all situations. We hope that this new service evolves into something that can help other programs and families in the future.
